Carbon Tax Carney Supports Trudeau While Fleeing From NDP-Liberal Economic Vandalism

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, ON—After nine years of the NDP-Liberal Government, Canada’s economy has become so abysmal that even Trudeau’s Chief Economic Advisor, Carbon Tax Carney, is moving his company’s headquarters out of Canada.
In September, Trudeau appointed Carbon Tax Carney has his top economic advisor, giving him sweeping powers over Canadians to make life cost more. But just a few months later, the investment firm that Carbon Tax Carney chairs—Brookfield Asset Management—announced that they are moving their headquarters to New York City to escape Trudeau’s economic vandalism.
Since Trudeau became Prime Minister, a half-trillion dollars more Canadian investment has gone to the US than has come back in the other direction. That works out to $11,500 more per person of our money paying American wages and building factories, homes, mines, machines, and technology companies in the US.
This is happening because Justin Trudeau has committed economic vandalism with his punishing taxes and uncontrolled spending. After nine years of his government, Canada is going through the worst decline in our living standards in forty years; the worst housing inflation, the worst drop in income per person and the worst economic growth in the OECD.
Business investment per worker in Canada is barely half that in the US, and our GDP per capita is smaller than it was a decade ago, while the American economy is up 8 percent in just the last 5 years. No wonder that Carbon Tax Carney is not putting his money where his mouth is.
If Carbon Tax Carney truly cared about the Canadian economy, he would tell Justin Trudeau to call a carbon tax election before he can do more damage to Canadians’ wallets. Instead, Carney prefers to enjoy his significant new powers within the NDP-Liberal Government, while being shielded by Trudeau from Canada’s ethics laws, all while he moves his own interests out of the country.
Enough is enough. Canadians deserve a Common Sense Conservative government who will axe the tax, fix the budget, and bring home powerful paycheques for workers.
