NDP Refuse To Call Election Until Sellout Jagmeet Singh Gets His $2.3 Million Pension

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, ON – Sellout Jagmeet Singh and the NDP have betrayed Canadian workers again. Today in Committee, the NDP-Liberal costly coalition voted down a Conservative amendment that would’ve moved the next election to the day before Singh qualifies for his $2.3 million dollar pension.

Time after time, Sellout Jagmeet Singh has demonstrated that he puts protecting his gold-plated pension ahead of Canadian workers. Already, Singh and the NDP have voted 24 times to support Justin Trudeau’s inflationary carbon tax, making everyone’s life more expensive. Families will now have to spend $800 more on food next year than they did in 2024. And now, Singh has given Trudeau the go-ahead to hike the carbon tax again in the spring.

This comes just one day after Sellout Jagmeet Singh and the NDP voted against a non-confidence motion that was composed entirely of Jagmeet Singh’s own words. Just a few months ago, Singh promised Canadians he had torn up his agreement with Justin Trudeau, saying the Liberals were “too weak, too selfish and too beholden to corporate interests to fight for people.” But instead of giving Canadians a carbon tax election, he taped his costly coalition agreement with Justin Trudeau back together again.

The NDP voted against this, even though union workers asked the NDP to trigger an election. Sellout Jagmeet Singh simply doesn’t care.

The NDP’s decision to vote against this new amendment in Committee follows a story from Blacklock’s Reporter that the NDP and Liberals “held closed door meetings to rewrite the Elections Act. One revision guaranteed parliamentary pensions for dozens of MPs.” No wonder the NDP want to keep Trudeau in power.

With the NDP-Liberal costly coalition, Trudeau gets power, Singh gets his pension and Canadians get the bill. Only Common Sense Conservatives will fight for Canadian workers by axing the tax and bringing home lower prices for all Canadians.
