Newsletter – December 8th

Latest from Lantsman – December 8, 2023

Two more weeks have passed and the fight continues.

Conservatives are fighting for farmers, First Nations, and families from coast to coast to coast by forcing Parliament to vote on our common-sense proposals to axe the carbon tax.

Justin Trudeau has ruined Christmas vacation for millions of families. We’re going to ruin his vacation by keeping Parliament in session for as long as it takes to bring relief to Canadians.

The fight also continues for safety and equality in our communities. Religious freedom and tolerance are at the core of what it means to be Canadian. I will not rest until our schools, places of worship, and loved ones of all ages are safe. The masked mob doesn’t scare me, and I know it doesn’t scare you either.

As many of us observe Chanukah – let us remember that the night is always darkest right before the dawn. Display your menorahs proudly – it’s never been more important. Have a look at my full Chanukah message here.

We will keep fighting. For you and for everyone else who just wants to go back to normal after 8 years of Justin Trudeau.

Chag Hanukkah Sameach,

Melissa

Rallying on Parliament Hill

Thousands made the trek to Parliament Hill and braved freezing temperatures to send a message to Justin Trudeau:

Take real action to protect our communities. Support our ally Israel and its right to defend itself. Stop the meaningless platitudes – start doing something for real.

It was an honour to speak and share our Conservative message – we will always fight for Israel’s right to defend itself alongside the safety and security of innocent people here in Canada.

My New Private Member’s Bill

Last week, we debated my Private Member’s Bill in the House of Commons.

If passed, this common-sense bill will strengthen security for Canadians abroad against the threat of hostage-taking.

Protecting human rights – in Canada and abroad – has never been more important. We must do everything in our power to bring home safety and freedom.

Fighting the Carbon Tax

The Prime Minister ruined Christmas vacation for millions of Canadians. We’re going to ruin his vacation until he axes the punishing carbon tax. For good.

Today, we learned that the average grocery bill will go up by $700 next year.

Enough is enough. Canadians deserve to be able to put food on the table.

Conservatives will stay here as long as it takes until these tired Liberals scrap the carbon tax for families, for farmers, for First Nations. For good.

Working for you in Ottawa

To all the women in Canada – struggling to get ahead with record inflation and rent prices, and for the women abroad fighting for freedom and equality – we will not stop working and fighting for you. That work needs to start right here in Canada. 🇨🇦 Thank you Equal Voice for the opportunity to speak last night to a room full of advocates. You have an ally in me.

Your tax dollars ➡️ foreign jobs. The Liberals have reached a new low and are sending taxpayer money to a Dutch company employing Korean foreign workers. Justin Trudeau’s government can’t get anything right. He’s not worth the cost.

Record government spending – and yet we have the lowest GDP per capita growth of any advanced economy, anywhere for the next 40 years. Taxes have never been higher and yet our economy is shrinking – make it make sense. This Prime Minister is not worth the cost.

Working for you in the Community

Honoured to light the first Chanukah candle with the Jewish Russian Community and my Friend Roman Baber as well as municipal and provincial leaders at Mel Lastman Square in Toronto tonight.

May the light of your menorah triumph over the darkness of those who seek to destroy you. Thank you to our mayors in Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill and Toronto for standing with our community in our hour of need.

An energized crowd in East Gwillimbury to support common-sense Conservative Scot Davidson. Excitement is building for our plan to fix what Justin Trudeau has broken. We will axe the tax, balance the budget, and build homes instead of bureaucracy to bring home lower prices for Canadians everywhere.

Catching up with some 🔥 🔥 🔥 supporters tonight. Thanks for the energy to bring it home in the GTA!

Lantsman in the News

Thanks to Jerry Agar for having me on to talk about the Rally for the Jewish People on Parliament Hill and the feeling of solidarity it invoked, which is needed now more than ever.
