Newsletter – February 7th
Latest from Lantsman – February 7, 2025
With everything happening in the news right now, there are no shortage of things to talk about in this week’s newsletter. I’m sure that the illegal American tariffs are top of mind for you — as they are for me.
Let me be clear — this situation could have been prevented. Trudeau and his government have known for years about our problems with border security and the holes in our immigration system. They admit that they lost 1 million people. Moreover, his record incompetence and high taxes have left at an unprecedented level of economic weakness.
Not only has it never been more important for us to come together as Canadians: it’s never been more important for us to come together as Parliamentarians. At a time like this, Parliament needs to be sitting so we can pass a plan to protect our country from what’s to come.
But Trudeau is, once again, putting politics first: he’s prorogued Parliament until the end of March so he can install Carbon Tax Carney as Canada’s next Prime Minister.
Instead of putting politics first, Conservatives say put Canada first. Recall Parliament. Yesterday.
Yours,
Melissa Lantsman
Member of Parliament for Thornhill
Deputy Leader of Canada’s Conservatives

Michael Mostyn, z”l
It was with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Michael Mostyn. To many he was the CEO of B’nai Brith Canada but he was also a dear friend, a mentor and unwavering supporter.
Michael dedicated his life to the Jewish community and fighting for freedom, justice and standing tall against the evils of antisemitism — everywhere.
In his last weeks — alongside his family, I was honoured to present Michael with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his service and dedication to Canada. Canada is a better place because of his unrelenting advocacy and for the work that he has done.
Extending my heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing. BDE 🇨🇦

Make no mistake: as much as he tries to distance himself from any of Trudeau’s radically policies, Carbon Tax Carney is the ULTIMATE Liberal insider.
He’s been advising Trudeau as the fake Finance Minister. He’s the biggest cheerleader of the carbon tax. He’s being endorsed by insider Liberal Ministers, like Nate – thanks for joining me! We brought the media so your guy can answer.
Just. Like. Justin.
That’s everything that’s happening in my world. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on all the latest.
