Latest from Lantsman – July 21, 2023

It’s hard to believe that the summer is almost halfway over. Between the events, the meetings, and the periodic road trip to help our Conservative friends across the country, it’s just flown by. I’m sure you feel the same way.

While I wrote you last time from Taiwan, I’m now back in Thornhill working hard for my neighbours and for all Canadians. It’s refreshing to be back in the best community in the nation and I’m looking forward to seeing many more of you as the summer continues.

We had two more jam-packed weeks so scroll below for the details. And stay posted for updates on the very latest from yours truly.

Best,

Melissa Lantsman

Breaking news: Cabinet shuffle on the way?

Rumour has it that Justin Trudeau is planning a cabinet shuffle soon.

Help me get these ministers fired and permanently shuffle Justin Trudeau out of office.

Health Canada’s Proposed Regulations

Many of you have reached out to me and my team regarding Health Canada’s proposed regulations on natural health products and supplements. Existing laws already keep Canadians safe and new rules are just about giving Ottawa more power.

Conservatives will fight these proposals in Parliament and all other attempts to make citizens smaller and government bigger.

Thank you for making your voice heard to us. If you would like to contribute to the public consultations currently taking place, please click here

Bank of Canada Raises Interest Rates — Again

For the tenth time in two years, the Bank of Canada has raised interest rates – they’re now at 5%, up from 0.5% when the Liberals were first elected.

The more Justin Trudeau spends, the higher inflation gets. The higher inflation gets, the higher interest rates have to go. The higher the interest rates go, the more that mortgages cost.

It’s fundamental economics. But the Liberals just. don’t. get it.

Stop the reckless spending. Stop the tax hikes. Stop the waste and fraud. They won’t do it. We will.

Always inspiring to visit Kathy at the DANI – Toronto 9 Days Café! 🍽️ to hear about the great work they organization is doing in our community.

She’s proof that superhumans do exist. Check out the DANI patio in Thornhill for lunch and dinner. And don’t forget about Sunday brunch from 10 am to 2 pm.

If you don’t know… DANI Cafe is a kosher restaurant in Thornhill attached to the Garnet A. Williams community centre where the servers are trained participants. The profits go right back into the programs. Now you know.

Thank you to everyone who brought non-perishable food items to our recent community events.

We brought a much-needed donation of Kosher food to Chasdei Kaduri Jewish Food Bank here in Thornhill.

If you’re able to give – check them out at Dufferin and Steeles. We’ll be highlighting more local food banks as we continue to deliver our haul. Our next load was generously donated by the Azerbaijani Women’s Association here in Vaughan who showed up in a big big way.

For the past 11 years, the Hanca Senior Association has enriched the lives of many in the Korean community across the GTA.

They do vital and important work to support our seniors and celebrate Korean culture.

I joined them today at their annual summer festival. Thanks for having me! 🇨🇦🇰🇷

A pleasure to visit job creators and workers with Pierre Poilievre and my Conservative colleagues.

Exciting to share our plan to bring the common sense of the common people back to Ottawa.

Hard work should pay off in Canada – we’re going to restore that idea. Thank you to Norwest Precision for hosting us!

Opening night! Honoured to welcome the 2023 cohort of participants of the IDF Widows and Orphans Organization to our community.

They are not alone and we remember and respect the inconceivable price they have paid.

Thank you to all the families that will make their stay one to remember forever 🇨🇦
