Latest from Lantsman – June 21, 2024

The House of Commons has risen for the summer and there will be no Parliament sittings until the fall.

Looking back at the session we’ve had — there’s so much that makes us angry, ashamed, anxious, or all of the above. Even in just the last two weeks, it seems like there’s a year’s worth of scandal to uncover.

First, we learned about the $300 million carbon tax coverup. Liberal ministers hid documents that prove the carbon tax costs Canadians.

They knew the average family pays nearly $2,000 a year, yet they continued on with the Liberal talking points anyways. They did this while food bank use hit record numbers and gas prices topped $1.75 or more.

Conservatives also announced our opposition to Trudeau’s new job-killing tax hikes. He says they’re only for the “1 percent” — but they’ll actually impact small businesses, families just trying to sell a home, independent workers, farmers, and more.

We know this because Liberals refused to implement common-sense Conservative legislation to protect the middle class from more costly tax increases.

One thing is clear: after 9 years, Trudeau and his Liberal-NDP coalition are just not worth the cost.

The summer break means that there will be less activity in Ottawa, but there’s much more to be done to hold Trudeau accountable for these failures and many more.

With your support, I’m looking forward to hitting the road, spreading the Conservative message, and continuing the hard work for all Canadians. Let’s bring it home!

Yours,

Melissa Lantsman
Member of Parliament for Thornhill
Deputy Leader of Canada’s Conservatives

IRGC Banned – FINALLY

After 6 years of foot-dragging and after a sustained Conservative campaign, the Liberal government is finally calling the IRGC what it is: a terrorist group.

After 9 years of Trudeau, our country has never been more vulnerable to foreign interference.

This should have been an easy decision. Why did it take the government so long to come to that conclusion?

Working Hard in the GTA

2024 UJA Walk for Israel. 🇨🇦🇮🇱

Thanks to all the friends, families and allies across the GTA for walking with us. We walk against terror and we walk to bring home our loved ones.

Every single one of them.

Amazing support for what’s to come in Canada – a government led by Pierre Poilievre – a government that will help us feel safe and heard again.

Action-packed night with CJPAC in Toronto. Thanks for having me! 🎉

Celebrating ahead of Rath Yatra — recognizing those who have travelled almost 25,000km to temples across Canada – thank you for having me at your celebration and welcoming your honoured guests from India. Thank you to Vishwa Hindu Parishad for bringing the Hindu community together across 🇨🇦

On the Road

Joined my friends Marty Morantz and Larry Maguire in Winnipeg – meeting small business owners, entrepreneurs, people trying to raise their families and buy a house. They are all saying the same thing: it’s time for change. Conservatives are ready to bring that change to 🇨🇦

Working Hard in Ottawa

If the Liberals won’t release the names of the MPs who committed treason, then they should hand over the unredacted documents. They won’t.

According to Trudeau’s government, we should just “get over it.”

Great to Celebrate Filipino Heritage Month and Philippines Independence Day with my friends in the community from coast to coast on Parliament Hill. Thanks for visiting us in Ottawa and for a great day of events.

A $30 billion coverup 🤝 Environment Minister

Resign.

According to the Finance Minister, the harder you work, the more you are punished.

How is that fair?

Lantsman in the News

This is a job-killing tax. Listen to my conversation with Rob Snow to hear why Common Sense Conservatives oppose these tax hikes on plumbers, carpenters, welders, farmers and small businesses.

That’s everything that’s happening in my world. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on all the latest.

Stay cool!
