Latest from Lantsman – November 29, 2024

In just 9 years, the Liberal-NDP government has doubled the cost of a home, doubled the cost to heat that home, and doubled the debt in this country.

They’ve added new, inflationary taxes that make everything you do and buy more expensive, on top of adding mountains of red tape and regulations.

But their solution to the crisis?

A tiny, temporary, two-month tax trick accompanied by a gimmick that will add over $4 billion to our debt.

Canadians know that this is not real relief – it’s a ploy by the Prime Minister intended to save his job.

It’s time for a Carbon Tax Election so Canadians can finally get what they really want – a common-sense Conservative majority government that will axe the tax, build the homes, fix the budget, and stop the crime.

Real relief with real impacts – let’s bring it home.

Yours,

Melissa Lantsman
Member of Parliament for Thornhill
Deputy Leader of Canada’s Conservatives

Working for You

Always an honour to join the Right Honourable Stephen Harper – especially right here in Thornhill 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Thank you for you words of inspiration and your unequivocal stand on the right side of history.

And thank you to Rabbi Korobkin and the entire BAYT team for putting together such an impactful evening.

Chatting affordable housing with Polat from Yaves Group in Thornhill, and my friend Scott Aitchison – our Common Sense Shadow Minister for Housing.

After 9 year of the Trudeau government, homeownership has become less and less of dream for more and more people. A Pierre Poilievre led government WILL build the homes Canadians need, and can afford.

Thank you both for visiting my office!

Met with Chief Rabbi Mirvis of the the Commonwealth today in Toronto.

We discussed the rising antisemitism in the UK and here in Canada and the many issues facing Jewish communities around the world. Leadership comes from the top, and it was my distinct honour to hear from him on a bright future for Jewish communities around the world.

End the violent chaos in the streets. Jail not bail.

Watch this video and share this video if you agree.

Honoured to be a part of the Limmud conference in Niagara on the Lake.

I’m glad I could share our Common Sense Conservative vision and get inspired by all of you.

Thanks to my friends Anna Roberts and Shannon Stubbs for stopping by my office after spending a day spreading the common-sense Conservative message across the GTA. 💪

Working for you in Ottawa

Election now. The crime, chaos and disorder from this Prime Minister are not worth the cost.

Defending my bill – Bill C-353, the Foreign Hostage-Takers Accountability Act – in Foreign Affairs Committee. This bill would strengthen our country’s ability to protect its citizens abroad and support for the families of hostages left at home.

When was the Prime Minister told of this riot — and why did he decide to keep dancing the night away?

No one over there knows or they won’t say.

The Prime Minister has a choice. We know the choice that Common-Sense Conservatives would make: a choice to fix what’s broken and put forward a Canada First approach. But he won’t.

A successful businessman, lawyer, Jewish community advocate, and family man, Henry Wolfond will soon be able to add “astronaut” to his impressive résumé. His way to raise awareness about the pervasive antisemitism on this planet.

Canada’s proud of you, Henry. 🇨🇦

My longtime friend Julian Leeser came for a visit in Ottawa today from Australia – nice to be in the same time zone. He’s the Federal Member of Parliament for Berowra. Huge ally in the fight for freedom. Glad he stopped by for a chat.

The ICC arrest warrants for the former defence minister and the Prime Minister of Israel are outrageous.

They draw a false equivalency between a liberal democracy and a terrorist group that attacked that democracy last October 7th.

Hamas needs to: Release the hostages. Drop their arms. Unconditionally surrender.

We’ll support a democratic ally’s right to defend itself not the false equivalency of the court.

For the third time in just a few weeks, I’m requesting the Government to release the Slush Fund scandal documents after they have been holding up Parliament from doing its job. They say third time’s the charm, but I’m not feeling particularly hopeful.

We need a Canada-first plan to fix what the Prime Minister broke.

Lantsman in the News

Thanks to Ben Mulroney for sharing my words from the House. You see it, I see it, and Canadians see it. Our country is broken. It’s time for an election. Now.

That’s everything that’s happening in my world. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on all the latest.
