Scandal-Plagued Trudeau Minister Ordered To Testify At Committee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, ON – Justin Trudeau is not worth the cost or the corruption. Already, Trudeau has been personally found guilty of breaking ethics laws, and now it has become clear that his Minister for Employment, Randy Boissonnault, is a serial liar who defrauded Indigenous companies while being dishonest about his own identity.

For this reason, the House of Commons voted in favour of a Common Sense Conservative motion that will compel Boissonnault to testify at Committee. This will be part of a sweeping investigation into Boissonnault’s ongoing Indigenous identity scandal, where his company claimed to be “wholly Indigenous-owned” while bidding on federal contracts in 2020. As a result of this, Trudeau’s former Attorney General, Jody Wilson-Raybould, called his actions “shameful and extremely destructive.”

On top of this, Boissonnault has called himself a “non-status adopted Cree” and claimed in Parliament that his grandmother was a “a full-blooded Cree woman.” In fact, the National Post discovered through census records that her father identified as German. Boissonnault later admitted that he had been “inaccurate.”

This is not the first time that Boissonnault’s dealings have triggered alarm bells. The medical company he established happened to share a post office box with a woman named in two major cocaine drug busts and is now under investigation for fraud.

Additionally, text messages unearthed at Committee suggested that Boissonnault continued to direct his company while he was a minister in Justin Trudeau’s government – a serious breach of Canada’s ethics laws. Boissonnault’s company received nearly $120 million in government grants and contracts, including during the time when he was a minister.

At one point, the texts between Boissonnault’s business partner and his client refer to “Randy [being] in Vancouver” on September 6, 2022, when we know that Boissonnault was attending the Liberal Government’s cabinet retreat in the same city. But Boissonnault has said that this is another Randy that no one has ever heard of, and who just happens to have worked at the company that Boissonnault had a 50 percent ownership stake in.

Randy Boissonnault’s history of fraud and lies is disgraceful and he must resign. If he refuses, then Justin Trudeau must fire him. Only Conservatives will end the corruption and bring home common sense to Ottawa.
